A Brief History of NTSRGC

 

The formation of the North Troy Stag Rod & Gun Club was finalized in 1983 by merging the North Troy Rod and Gun Club and the Stag Rod and Gun Club. The club is located on 200 acres off Cushman Road in Melrose, NY. We offer a wide range of Sportsman activities throughout the year.

The North Troy Stag Rod & Gun Club promotes interest in hunting, trapping, trap shooting, fishing, bait casting, boating and other lawful sports; to aid in the protection and preservation of birds, fish, game, and other wildlife; to promote the safety in handling of firearms; promotes good sportsmanship and conservation of our forest preserves; promotes better relations between farmers, landowners, and sportsmen; promotes interest in providing a more plentiful stock of fish and game for our forest, streams and lakes; promotes interest in preventing pollution of our streams and rivers; promotes interest in destruction of vermin to game, fish, or forest; promotes interest in reforestation.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM from April thru December and for the winter months of January, February and March, meetings are at 1:00 PM on the first Sunday of the month.
