Founded in 1983 by merging the North Troy Rod and Gun Club and the Stag Rod and Gun Club. The club is located on 200 acres off Cushman Road in Melrose, NY. We offer a wide range of Sportsman activities throughout the year.
Monthly membership meeting was held on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:00 PM. and new members were admitted. Meetings will continue on the first Tuesday of each month for the rest of the year.

John Ostwald: Women who shoot guns on Mother's Day -

Last week I drove to a remote area of Rensselear County to interview a group of women at the North
Troy Stag Rod and Gun Club. What are women doing here in the woods where only manly men compete with
bow, rifle, and pistol? If there are women here they surely are those often referred to as "hill billies."
Dolores, from the 'Burgh, joked, "We have all of our teeth" to make light of this misperception. The women
I spoke to were over 35, lived in nearby cities, had diverse occupations i.e. barber, dental assistant,
police union employee etc., and often had "feminine" hobbies like knitting. I interviewed them because
they fired weapons regularly at the club just like the men. When I used the word "weapons" they quickly
corrected me and said "we use the term firearms." Joe Johnson, chairman of the Board of Directors, said,
"Weapons kill people. We shoot holes in paper (targets)." Read More...
The membership authorized spending up to $8000.00 for a new trap machine.

The annual game dinner was held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the club and, as usual, was a sell out success. If you missed this year's dinner, watch this space for next year or put it on your calendar right now for the 1st Saturday in March of 2011.
Last year's chain saw raffle was such a big success that we're doing it again.
Be sure to notify the TREASURER (Phil Hembdt) when you move or you get a
new phone number so you can continue receiving the newsletter by US Mail.
The newsletter will be available on this web site prior to the mailings so you may wish to read it here instead and use the postage saved towards club imporvements. Dues for 2010 were payable prior to January 1, 2010. The month of January was the ONLY grace period and dues not paid by the close of the February 7th membership meeting will require payment of a $20 penalty for each month late. NTS Pistol Bullseye League (.22 caliber) shoots every Thursday beginning at 6:30 PM. All NYS licensed shooters are welcome to participate. Indoor league has ended for the summer; fun shoots wil begin as soon as the outdoor range renovations are completed.
The Adirondack Foothills Pistol League is also ending for the season. League results will be posted under the link for "Pistol" on the left as soon as they are available.
The women's pistol league is also winding down for the summer. Fun shoots on Tuesday's at 7:00pm will begin as soon as the outdoor range is completed
